Tamaiti Whāngai Rapu Mahi

About us

The Tamaiti Whāngai Rapu Mahi service is funded by the Ministry of Social Development to support rangatahi into employment. The service provides assistance for rangatahi to prepare their CV and to introduce them to potential employers. It has a strong focus on education and includes delivery of Te Toi Ararau Pathways to Education and Employment programme and delivery of drivers license training.

Te Toi Ararau programme targets rangatahi aged between 17 and 24 who are not in work, education or training. It provides a supported environment were rangatahi develop employability skills, build their self-awareness and confidence, gain work experience through work placement and voluntary work and plan for their future.

On completing the 12-week training programme, rangatahi are mentored into education and employment for up to a year to ensure their success.
