Try-A-Trade is a practical, hands-on six week programme delivered in partnership

with MSD & WelTec, designed to introduce whānau to the world of trades and open

doors to future training or employment. Tailored for those not currently working,

studying, or in training, the programme helps participants build foundational

skills and confidence in a supportive, whānau-friendly environment.

Workshops offer exposure to a wide range of trades — including mechanical

engineering, plastering, plumbing, carpentry, tiling, painting, and electrical —

allowing participants to explore their interests and discover potential career

pathways. Try-A-Trade empowers whānau to take their first steps toward

meaningful mahi.

 

Try-A-Tech

with MSD & WelTec, designed to spark interest and build foundational skills in the tech

sector. Tailored for whānau exploring education or employment pathways, the

programme introduces key areas such as computer hardware, networking, app

and game development, graphics programming, and digital design.

Participants gain real-world experience in a supportive environment, helping

them discover their strengths and build confidence in a growing industry.

Whether as a first step into tech or a bridge to further study or mahi, Try-A-Tech

empowers whānau to explore new possibilities and pathways.
